Still Winds are Blowing

The Priest Lake Yacht Club was founded in 1966 for fun and nothing has changed - almost.

The membership is very very exclusive - members have to have seen a boat, and be able to afford the modest $10 membership fee.

Founded during a friendly meeting of Priest Lakers chatting at Hill's Resort. The organization has thrived and is most famous for it's Annual Yacht Club Gin Fizz Party on Labor Day Weekend.

It's only other event (so far)  is the Annual Commodores Ball in the Spring. At each event, participants can purchase a wide array of shirts, drink cozys and towels . The Gin Fizz Party is a huge family event with Gin Fizzes and Beer served with German Sausages and all the picnic trimmings.

The PLYC is headed by a Commodore and Vice-Commodore who are appointed each year by the outgoing pair. They bear the responsibility for coordinating the primary functions of championing safe boating, and arranging the Gin Fizz Party and the Spring Ball. This years Royalty are Commodore Pecky Cox and Vice-Commodore Traci S. As their oath of office states, " and they can do anything with the Club's money that they please!"

The membership roster for the PLYC probably numbers in the hundreds, if anyone has bothered to count.  The Club is not sure how many power boats are numbered in the membership, nor sailboats.. no one has asked! .. why keep the records.

Commodore - Pecky Cox
Vice Commodore - Tracie Szybnski
